Onboarding Guide Resource
This document provides a comprehensive guide to creating and utilizing a 30 60-90-day plan for your new team members. These plans should emphasize structuring the onboarding period into three distinct phases—Learning, Contributing, and Execution—to ensure the employee transitions smoothly into their role while aligning with the organization's mission and expectations. A hiring manager or team leader can adjust the template based on the type of new role that has been hired. Still, it can also be shared directly with new hires to actively craft their own plans based on their job descriptions, allowing for adaptability and ownership. For this type of plan to be successful, a team leader should conduct regular reviews and define clear metrics to help track progress; the sample goals illustrate practical applications for a variety of roles, but do need to be adjusted by role. This document can be used by hiring managers, HR teams, and new employees to collaboratively set expectations, foster growth, and maximize early success in a role.
